LIFT coordinates existing transportation services throughout Southwest Wisconsin. We are a community-based initiative serving the commuting, aging, disabled and low income populations in the region. In a nutshell, LIFT facilitates access to available transportation services, minimizes duplication of those services, and seeks cost-effective transport utilizing available resources.

Anyone can use LIFT. We can connect you with available transportation resources that will best fit your needs in the area in which you live. We provide transportation assistance for citizens in these Wisconsin counties:

How do I get a LIFT?

LIFT coordinates many different types of transportation options in Southwest Wisconsin – from busses to taxi services, to private individuals who want to share their daily commutes, we can coordinate them all.

We do our best to make it simple. When you call a LIFT Transportation Coordinator, we’ll match your needs with the best option for you. In order for us to do that however, the coordinator will need to ask you a few questions in order to assess your needs and match it with the proper transportation method.

For those of you tech savvy individuals, we now offer ride reservations via our website. Simply fill out the online form, and a LIFT Transportation Coordinator will get in touch with you right away to get you setup with a ride. It’s that simple.

What does a ride cost?

The cost of your ride depends on many variables. Most of which is based on your personal situation. Call us and a LIFT Transportation Coordinator will help you find the most cost effective way to get where you need to go.

Willing to share your everyday ride?

There are many people who don’t have the transportation needs available to them to get to their place of employment, school, etc. Many of these people may work where you work, go to school where you do, or need to go somewhere relatively close to either one of these, and need help getting there. Would you be willing to share your everyday ride?

Volunteer commuters should contact LIFT if they are interested in volunteering to transport other individuals during their normal everyday drive to work, school, or other daily activity. Volunteer commuters who assist in transporting individuals to their destinations may be eligible for mileage reimbursement from an approved agency.

Are you retired and looking for something to do with your time? Or maybe you are someone who goes to a particular place once, twice, or more each week and would be willing to pick someone up along the way that needs a ride there too? Or maybe you just like to meet new people, help others in need, or give back to your community? If so, we need your help!

If you are willing to carpool or are willing to pick up someone else on your route, we want to talk with you. We are seeking reliable drivers to assist in meeting the region’s growing transportation needs, assisting residents in getting to their social, work, medical and life appointments. And you may even be eligible for mileage reimbursement.
